TreadHabit respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We've kept the legalese to a minimum.
The short version
- We don't have a newsletter. We don't ask for your email.
- We don't sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.
- We run display ads through Mediavine/AdSense and affiliate links through Amazon Associates. These partners may set cookies and collect data per their own policies.
- We use privacy-friendly analytics that don't track individuals across the web.
- You can opt out of advertising cookies through your browser settings or the "Do Not Track" signal.
Information we collect directly
Almost none. We don't have user accounts, comments, or contact forms on the site. The only time we'll have your email is if you email us directly — in which case we keep your message for as long as needed to respond and resolve your inquiry, then delete it on request.
Information collected automatically
When you visit TreadHabit, our server and our third-party partners may automatically collect:
- Server logs. Standard request logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp, pages visited). Used only for security and abuse prevention, retained for 30 days.
- Analytics. Aggregate, privacy-friendly page view counts. We do not use Google Analytics. We do not track individuals across sessions or devices.
- Cookies. Set by our ad partners (see below), not by us. We don't set tracking cookies ourselves.
Advertising and affiliate partners
Amazon Associates
TreadHabit is a participant in the Amazon Associates Program. When you click an Amazon link on our site, Amazon may set a cookie on your browser to track your visit for 24 hours. This cookie allows Amazon to credit us with any qualifying purchases you make in that window. Amazon's collection and use of this data is governed by Amazon's Privacy Notice.
Display advertising (Mediavine / AdSense)
We run display ads through a third-party ad network (currently Mediavine, with AdSense as a fallback). These networks and their advertisers may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. They may collect IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited.
You can opt out of personalized advertising through:

- European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance
- Your browser's "Do Not Track" or "Prevent cross-site tracking" setting
Your rights
If you're located in California (CCPA), the EU/UK (GDPR), or another jurisdiction with privacy rights, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we've collected about you
- Request deletion of that information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information
- Access your data in a portable format

Children's privacy
TreadHabit is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we've collected information from a child, please contact us and we'll delete it immediately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted on the homepage.
