What we liked
- Best fold mechanism under $400. The C2's half-fold design is identical to the more expensive Z1 and X25. It folds completely in half and stands vertically against a wall.
- Genuinely quiet. 57 dB at 2.5 mph is among the quietest we've tested at any price. Perfect for apartment dwellers.
- Comes in colors. Most walking pads are black or white. The C2 is available in 5+ colors, which matters if your home office is visible on Zoom.
- The app actually works. Syncs with Apple Health and Google Fit. Step counting matches our Apple Watch within 3%.
What we didn't like
- 220 lb weight limit. Lower than the DeerRun 300lb and WalkingPad X25. Heavier users should look elsewhere.
- No incline. If you want incline, step up to the UREVO Strol 2E Pro ($329) or DeerRun 12% Auto Incline ($289).
- 2.0 HP motor. Slightly weaker than the 2.5 HP motors in UREVO and DeerRun pads at the same price. Fine for walking but won't handle jogging.
How it compares
vs. WalkingPad X25 ($599): The X25 has 300 lb capacity, vertical fold (vs. half-fold), and 2-year warranty. If you can afford the $250 premium, the X25 is the better product. If not, the C2 is excellent.
vs. UREVO 2.5HP with Incline ($249): UREVO has 265 lb capacity, 2.5 HP motor, and 9% incline for $100 less. The C2 wins on fold and quietness; the UREVO wins on specs and price.
vs. DeerRun Quiet ($209): DeerRun is $140 cheaper, has 300 lb capacity, but no fold. The C2 is the better choice if fold matters.
Who should buy this
- Users under 220 lb who want the best fold mechanism without paying X25 prices
- Apartment dwellers who need very quiet operation
- Anyone who wants a color option that matches their decor
Who should skip this
- Users over 220 lb (look at DeerRun 300lb or WalkingPad X25)
- Users who want incline
- Buyers under $300 budget
The verdict
The WalkingPad C2 at $349 is the best foldable walking pad under $400. The half-fold design is best-in-class, the 57 dB motor is whisper-quiet, and the app is excellent. The 220 lb weight limit is the main drawback — if you're under 220 lb and prioritize fold + quiet, this is the pad to buy.
